What is a COVID Safe Martial Arts School?
Our instructors participated in online instruction to:
-Understand the basics about the COVID-19 virus, including how it is spread
-Describe what you can do to protect yourself and others
-Know what to do if you develop symptoms
-Know what to do if the person you are caring for develops symptoms
-Tell the difference between myths and facts about COVID-19
How will the COVID Safe Martial Arts instruction benefit my student/myself during classes?
When conducting martial arts classes, TKS will have mandatory safety requirements:
-All students and instructors must wear masks while in the dojo
-Masks are required during training
-All students must sanitize their hands before entering the dojo and upon leaving
-All students should come to class prepared. No bags will be allowed in the dojo
-All students must bring their own water bottles—labeled with names
-Students cannot enter the dojo for their class until all students have left the
previous class
-Spectators to class are not permitted.
-Single user rule for all equipment—focus pads, shields, etc.
-Instructors will ensure that cleaning and sanitizing will occur between each class
How can I help keep students at TKS safe and healthy?
Before coming to class:
-Make sure you are feeling healthy
-If you have a temperature, stay home
-If you are sneezing/coughing, even if because of allergies, stay home
-If you have been around someone who is ill, stay home
-Be sure to wash your gi before you come to each class
